Silently Watch Them Die

This heart is b-r-e-a-k-i-n-g a-p-a-r-t, Witnessing all these sufferings. My mind is going blind Burdened by all the warmongerings. How did we lose the courage to fight these lies and this insanity? Have we given up on love already? Where is our humanity?

Even when genocides are being carried out We turn a blind eye Even when thousands of children are getting massacred We barely cry We just silently watch them die We just silently watch them die. How did we lose the courage to fight these lies and this brutality? Have we given up on love already? Where is our humanity?

Everyday the war machines and bombs are getting bigger Everywhere the borders and walls keep getting higher But we barely care Even when whole cities are set on fire Even when the whole world is set on fire. How did we lose the courage to fight these lies and this brutality? Have we given up on love already? Where is our humanity?

This poem/song seeks to bear witness to the brutal genocide and atrocities that the Israeli settler colonial apartheid state is carrying out in Gaza, Palestine. It is pained critique of our failure to stop this ethnic cleansing and genocide in Palestine (and other places in the world), our wilful complicity with colonial capitalist military industrial complex, and our tendency to siliently watch people, including thousands of children, die.
