Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play Comes to NYC

And you thought getting tickets to see Hamilton was difficult.

Originally, the screenplay, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was only for the lucky Londoners to enjoy. But, on March 16, 2018, fans from the United States can visit the Lyric Theatre in New York City and enjoy the show!

As a person who grew up beside Harry and his story, I think I can speak for most fans when I say this is the Best. News. Ever!

For those of you that have been living under a rock and are just finding out about the screenplay in general, this play is the sequel to the Harry Potter series. However, the main characters are Harry’s and his friends’ children, not the cast we’ve known.

The Cursed Child takes place nineteen years after the battle at Hogwarts ended. The plot follows Harry’s son, Albus Severus, along with Draco Malfoy’s son, Scorpius, on a journey to fix the past.

But why is the U.S. production of the play groundbreaking news, you ask?

The entire Harry Potter series created a whole new generation of readers around the world and the play is just another fantastic addition to the franchise.

The Harry Potter books are distributed in over 200 territories, are translated into 68 languages and have sold over 400 million copies worldwide. — Scholastic

The millennial generation grew up with Harry Potter whether they enjoyed the series or not. It became a huge part of popular culture and impossible to ignore.
