Last night I watched Iterable roll out Nova Agent.

Klaviyo’s Composer is already in production. Braze just shipped eCommerce recommended events. Every major ESP is now an autonomous agent that writes flows from a single prompt.

And here’s the bit nobody’s posting about.

RevenueCat’s 2026 benchmark landed the same week. Apps with AI features are pulling 41% more revenue per customer. They’re also seeing customers churn 30% faster.

Read that twice.

The agentic shift is a revenue lever and a retention leak in the same breath.

Most B2C teams I’m speaking to this quarter are asking the wrong question. “How do I prompt the agent?” They should be asking, “What happens in days 1–30 after the agent books the sale?”

Recharge just quantified it. A +15 percentage point lift in 30-day repurchase rate compounds to 7.5x more profit over two years. CAC payback drops from 3 months to 2. The entire unit economics of a DTC brand hinges on one window.

We saw it on a supplements account we onboarded in March. Same Meta creative. Same welcome flow. We rebuilt the first 14 days around what Recharge is now calling “belief engineering” — founder-voice SMS before the box lands, a sub-two-minute masterclass by day 7, billing reminders reframed as “your next freebie ships in 3 days.”

Day-30 repurchase went from 58% to 71%.

The agent didn’t do that. The system did.

2026’s retention advantage isn’t prompting better. It’s being the brand that actually believes the first 30 days are part of the product.
