Nice Hash GPU Mining — which miner should you choose?

There are 3 main Nice Hash mining applications to use depending on what you have or want.

  1. NiceHash Quick Miner
  2. Nice Hash Mining
  3. NiceHash OS

This website shows an overview of the mining applications and the services they provide (screenshotted below)

Each miner has different use cases, I will briefly talk about what mine was:

  • I have a dedicated mining rig that has 1 NVIDIA graphics card RTX 3070 (with the idea of scaling it higher once I have done a proof of concept)
  • To be able to monitor it remotely — I don’t want to be onsite to check on health status and payments. I want alerts when the rig is not running
  • Let an application handle all the GPU settings as I am not an expert
  • The application can start on boot
  • Choose an algorithm to mine automatically that has the greatest return on investment
  • Is a stable / trusted application so that I have to spend very little time maintaining the rig as I am not always on site.
  • Easy OS and application to navigate

I will be running these applications on Windows due to it being pre-installed on my rig but do plan to try Linux in the near future and evaluate results.

Two reasons why I choose NiceHash Quick Miner over Nice Hash Miner was (I have eliminated NiceHash OS as I’m running windows):

  • NashQuick Miner has no dev fee’s
  • GPU settings are automatically optimised on NiceHash Quick Miner but on Nice Hash Miner they are not. Nice Hash Quick Miner you can change the GPU optimiser remotely between Lite, Medium and High. I do not want to fiddle with GPU voltage, auto clocking or anything else in my first ever mining rig. Once I learn more I may be confident too. NiceHash quick miner is designed purely for Nvidia Graphics Cards.

Since I have narrowed it down to NiceHash Quick Miner I am aware I will only be mining 1 algorithm (Etherum) so if that is not the most profitable I will be unable to do anything. However, I am willing to take the risk for now.

If anyone is wanting to know more about my first experience with Nice Hash Quick Miner, I have created some summary notes here
