The Price of Accuracy: What Happens When a Prophet Is Too Right

Just like Ryo Tatsuki, who foresaw the 3/11 earthquake. But when her more recent prophecy failed to come true, many were quick to call her a fraud. Of course, some might say that the collective consciousness changed the outcome.

Lately, something has happened to Master Plai. Many of her predictions this year have come true, including an earthquake in Myanmar and a Buddhist scandal. Perhaps her accuracy was too much for some; many of her critics have been waiting for a chance to refute her prophecies, but most of the time, their efforts were in vain.

More specifically, she has turned her focus to the Thai-Cambodian conflict. When Master Plai was interviewed by reporters on August 2, a reporter asked her about the situation. Although Thailand and Cambodia had already announced an unconditional ceasefire, Master Plai prophesied that there could be more conflict within the next 48 hours. When asked about the casualties, she said they would be serious. She also mentioned that Thailand possesses a secret and powerful weapon, but it has not been used yet. As soon as she spoke, many people living along the Thai-Cambodian border dared not go home. But two days later, nothing major happened

Meanwhile, the man who had long been waiting to attack Master Plai finally took action; he uploaded videos online to criticize her. A lawyer also announced that on August 5th at 2 p.m., he would go to the police station to file a report on the case against Master Plai.

Master Plai is accused of violating Thai Penal Code 384, the crime of spreading false information. If found guilty, the punishment is imprisonment not exceeding one month or a fine not exceeding 10000 baht. So the charge is relatively minor.

Even though many people were scolding Master Plai, she stated that an even greater conflict is coming. If the situation is really that intense, why didn’t she just say it earlier?

Still, many people trust Master Plai than the official media and government. After this event, she might stop making predictions. If something else does happen, the public might suffer even greater losses.

Some said Master Plai has at least an 80% accuracy rate, so it’s reasonable for her to give warnings.

Although there have been no further conflicts in the past couple of days in Thailand, drones are now banned nationwide. Violators face one year in prison and a 40,000 baht fine. The reason for this ban wasn’t clearly stated.

But the real reason is that after the conflict ended, mysterious drones kept appearing at night across Thailand — particularly near military bases.

Even after the drone ban, strange flying objects continued to appear late at night, especially near the border.
