My husband was off today.

My husband was off today. I’d actually forgotten, so I tried to prepare breakfast last night just in case I didn’t wake up in time this morning. I was thrilled to learn he was off today since it meant we could spend the day together. We headed to a cafe that is my husband’s go-to spot. Before we got there, a caregiver called my husband to vent about something. After they hung up, he told me about the nursing home while we were at the cafe.

I learned that some caregivers insist on doing things their own way when looking after the elderly. It made me realize that we should not always stick to our own ways, but instead be open to others’ perspectives with humility even if I have sophisticated know-how.
