Boba Tea

The other day, I had boba tea at a local shop and remembered how this fun little drink stands in such stark contrast to everything else happening in the world right now — light and airy. So, I thought I would write a poem about the drink because it was a nice and short moment which I wanted to capture in words.

Goofballs jumping around
In a liquid the color of molten glass.
Press your lips to the straw,
Gently arrange the bobas in a line;
And when done with the game,
Savor the chewy goodness.
They stick to your teeth,
Which glisten when you break into a smile-
Better brush them good.

I slosh around the tea;
It's like a storm in my mouth.
Bobas banging, then gulped down,
Down, down they fall into the gastric pit.
Not long after, I let out a satisfied burp,
And my friend and I agree to another
Fun-filled, boba-sloshing gal-pal time.
