I didn’t always know what to say.

bisexual.

Queer and fluid.

I just had feelings and questions for a long time that no one wanted me to ask.

I was told I had to make a decision.

claimed that I was “confused,” “greedy,” and “doing it for attention.”

I was told that I was too straight for queer spaces and too gay for straight ones.

But I developed gradually.

Similar to a flower that grew in the crevices — in defiance of erasure, in silence, and in resistance.

I began to realise that I wasn’t broken.

that my identity wasn’t a stage act or a phase.

It was authentic.

It was legitimate.

It was also mine.

I stopped saying I was sorry for being “in between.”

I realised that there is nothing that I am in between.

I am the spectrum.

I am bold like fire, wild like wind, and fluid like rivers.💫

I’ve learnt how to grow in layers as a result of being bisexual.

to accept both/and rather than either/or.

to live without shrinking and to love without limitations.

I walk with pride now.

Keep your head up.

Open heart.

Louder healing.

expanding one’s love.

And always growing — always growing. 🌸

I identify as bisexual.

Not because I ought to be “figured out,” as they say

But because I am fully aware of who I am.

So let’s hope that bisexuals discover their truth.

To those who continue to whisper it.

To those who are yelling it in colour.

To those who are learning to fully love themselves.

We’re not little.

We are not unseen.

We’re getting up.
