The number of users of the OpenAI artificial intelligence company has reached 400 million users per month, which justifies the fame of the generative artificial intelligence company and its widespread spread, as the number of users has increased by about a third compared to December of last year, which confirms the world’s tendency to use artificial intelligence and suggests that ChatGPT is spreading and becoming very popular based on verbal recommendations, as friends and colleagues connect with each other. On the other hand, the company did not reveal the number of subscribers to the paid plans, which raises questions about the financial profitability of the company. In addition to individuals, there are about two million companies that rely on ChatGPT for their services. In other statements by the company, it is reported that subscribers to the paid version have doubled since last September, which confirms the adoption of new technologies by the business sector.

In a remarkable strategic shift for the company last year and its quest to achieve profits after it was a non-profit organization, this shift gave the company the ability to attract new capital and investors and obtain support for its projects. This shift faced rejection from some of the founders and shareholders of ChatGPT , including Elon Musk, because he believes that it diverts the company from its principles in developing artificial intelligence for humanity.

This month, the company received an acquisition offer from Elon Musk worth $ 97 billion in an attempt to redirect the company’s goals towards its original goals away from profitability. The board of directors, led by Sam Altman, rejected the offer, and confirmed that the company’s valuation exceeds $ 260 billion, and also confirmed their quest to transform the company into profitability.

Especially after raising $40 billion from SoftBank and entering into a partnership within the Stargate project worth $500 billion, all these factors aim to enhance research and development capabilities, improve its artificial intelligence technologies, and expand the scope of its services to include all possible fields.

All this growth may lead to increased competition between various major artificial intelligence companies and lead to the need to improve the infrastructure and invest heavily in it, as it raises concerns and guarantees regarding privacy and data security, as well as access to and analysis of data, and also raises concerns about property rights due to the company collecting information and data from major websites and magazines in Europe, America, and the rest of the world.

This does not negate the fact that OpenَAI has become a pioneer in the development of generative artificial intelligence and has grown significantly, as we mentioned earlier, about two million companies rely on it to improve productivity and provide smarter user experiences. It is also making a major revolution in changing the nature of jobs and eliminating a large number of traditional jobs. We should not forget that artificial intelligence also adds many new job titles.
