Some scoreboard notes from the Padres’ three-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves — the Padres’ first series sweep since they won three straight in Seattle May 15–17.

The Padres have now won nine straight games against the Braves at Petco Park, including playoff action.

This Padres’ sweep of Atlanta included their third 1–0 win (and seventh shutout win) of the season on a Manny Machado home run, a 7–6, 10-inning win on Machado’s 12th career walk-off hit and a 5–2 victory in a spot start by left-hander JP Sears, who was promoted from Triple-A El Paso for Wednesday’s specific game.

— 3B Machado was 3-for-10 in the three wins over the Braves with his decisive 14th home run of the season and his second walk-off hit of the season. Machado also had two runs and three walks.

— RF-2B Fernando Tatis Jr was 3-for-12 in the three games with a double, his third home run, a walk, a stolen base and 3 three runs. Tatis has now reached base in 18 straight games, going 24-for-74 (.324) with seven doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, 13 walks, five stolen bases and 12 runs for a .425 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage for a .925 OPS. And while Tatis has only three home runs this season, he has moved past Dave Winfield into fifth on the Padres’ all-time list with 155. Also, Tatis is 5-for-9 during his career as a pinch-hitter.

— LF Samad Taylor was 5-for-11 against the Braves with three RBIs, a walk and two stolen bases. In 16 games since being promoted from Triple-A El Paso, Taylor has gone 22-for-58 with a double, a home run, 11 RBIs six walks, six stolen bases and 11 runs for a .379/.438/.448/.886 slash line.

— 1B Ty France homered for the game’s first run Wednesday night. He has three home runs in his last six games, going 6-for-20 with two doubles, seven RBIs, a walk and four runs for a .300/.333/.850/.1183 slash line.

— RHP Mason Miller (2–1, 0.79 earned run average, 0.794 WHIP, 21 saves) picked up a save and a win in the first two games of the series and struck out three Tuesday while working two perfect innings, the first time he went two innings since Sept. 6, 2024.

— LHP Wandy Peralta struck out 2 in a perfect inning as an opener Tuesday then pitched a scoreless inning in relief Wednesday to extend his scoreless innings streak to 13 1/3 innings while lowering his season ERA to 1.82.

— Starting RHP Michael King (5–6, 3.33 ERA) allowed 6 hits and no walks with 5 strikeouts over 7 scoreless innings in the Padres’ series opening 1–0 win Monday night. Monday marked the sixth time in King’s career, including playoffs, that he worked at least 7 shutout innings in a game.

— RHP Jason Adam picked up his second save of the season and his second as a Padre Wednesday night with a perfect inning that lowered his ERA to 2.45.

— LHP Adrian Morejon struck out 3 in two, perfect, 1-inning outings Monday and Tuesday, Morejon has pitched 10 2/3 straight scoreless innings over his last nine outings (allowing 3 hits and no walks with 14 strikeouts) to lower his ERA from 4.75 to 3.51.

PAD BITS:

— 2B Jake Cronenworth, who has been out since May 4 due to a concussion, joined Triple-A El Paso Thursday on a rehab assignment.

— Tuesday was an advancement day in the Padres’ minor league system. Moving to Triple-A El Paso from Double-A San Antonio are RHP Andrew Moore and 1B Romeo Sanabria (the №27 prospect). Moving to San Antonio from High Single-A Fort Wayne are RHPs Tucker Musgrove (the №9 prospect) and Clay Edmondson and OF Jake Cunningham. Moving from Single-A Lake Elsinore to Fort Wayne are CF Ryan Wideman (the №9 prospect), INF Kerrington Cross and RHPs Bryan Balzer (the №28 prospect), Winyer Chourio, Nick Falter and Will Kroger.

— INF-OF Nick Solak, who was designated for assignment when DH Miguel Andujar (hamstring) was activated from the injured list Sunday, cleared waivers and opted for free agency rather than return to El Paso. C Blake Hunt was optioned back to El Paso when C Freddy Fermin (concussion) was activated.

PADRES HISTORY:

June 24, 1975 — Starting pitchers Randy Jones (one run allowed over 10 innings) and Brent Strom (a two-hit shutout) each throw a complete game as the Padres sweep a doubleheader from the Giants by 2–1 and 3–0 scores at San Diego Stadium.

June 25, 1973 — San Diego City Attorney John Witt files an initial suit seeking unspecified damages over the club’s 30-year lease at San Diego Stadium from new ownership if the club is moved. Washington, D.C., grocery magnate Joseph Danzansky later backs out of purchase of the Padres.

PADRES ON DECK:

RHP Jhony Brito allowed no runs on 3 hits and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings for Triple-A El Paso Sunday, was named the Pitcher of the Week in the Pacific Coast League for June 15–21. Brito lowered his ERA to 1.32 for 3 starts for the Chihuahuas. He has given up 2 runs on 10 hits and 7 walks with 13 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings in his return after missing all of 2025 following Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery.
