The Chase
some days are perfectly fine, until you realise they have come to an end.
you take a walk through places you’ve known, almost as if returning to them could keep their familiarity from fading. there is always this quiet fear of losing the space you’ve grown comfortable in, of waking up one day and finding that it no longer feels like yours.
so you keep moving. you keep chasing, hoping to arrive somewhere that keeps you on the edge — something new enough to feel alive, but familiar enough to feel like home.
you tell yourself it’s a better way to create a routine. a reason to keep going. but somewhere along the way, you begin chasing even the things that were never meant to be chased.
maybe not everything needs to be held onto. maybe some things are meant to end without being replaced.
and maybe the better way is to stop running long enough to notice that you’re already here.
