There is something magical about finding a place that completely captivates you, even when it’s your second time visiting.

​During my recent three-week stay in the UK, which began on May 30th after a chaotic start—thanks to an Air Canada overbooking situation that bumped my flight and delayed my arrival by a day—my husband, Chris, and I based ourselves at his family home in New Milton. From there, we set out on several day trips across the region. But out of all the incredible places we visited, Winchester easily stole my heart and became my absolute favorite spot of the entire trip.

​We were blessed with glorious, picture-perfect weather that day, which made the city shine even brighter. Winchester truly has it all packed into a walkable, charming layout: a breathtaking cathedral, captivating historic ruins, and beautiful nature-filled walking routes along the water. And, of course, no British day trip is complete without a gorgeous, atmospheric pub to rest your feet in!
