These Empty Spaces by the Mountain

A poetry piece I’ve been trying to write, for pahad.

If I could conjure the mountains just as easily as I may conjure a rhyme

I’d have a new self to find and meet, by the evenings with every climb-

Where there is a slow rise to the day and an even slower passing of time,

slowly would the breeze echo the valley’s praise in the olden bell’s sweet chime

I’d have those wildflowers for my friends, the ones they have not named yet-

to give in to the whimsy and angelic voice that often resides in my so often crowded head,

and to live this Life I’ve been gifted with by the wishes my heart leaves unsaid

I’d fill these empty spaces of my diary with the words of fairytales I lived and read

The stream that awakens in the arms of the mountain stretches across this land of green,

it speaks in a sacred language to my Soul, to hear it’s divine voice I can’t help but let my heart lean-

how every blade of grass and every shade of moss breathes with Life in a beauty so serene

Can I lose myself in these empty spaces I escape into, these moments of feeling alive in between-

the thoughts in my head, these imaginations of mine are a home to my dream that remains unseen

These empty spaces to which I belong, how I long to be one with the Mountains by our stream
