There has been some properly weird stuff to have come out of TMBG’s original Dial-A-Song service, including a bunch of the songs featured in Miscellaneous T and Then: The Earlier Years. Most of those aren’t too worth mentioning, however, as they’re just super weird.

Unless… unless that song is the famous “Mr. Klaw.

Moments of Interest: Something interesting about this song is the fact that, along with only a few others, John Linnell actually played guitar for this song. It wasn’t entirely unheard of back then, but certainly rare. He joins the drum machine to form the backing music of the track.

There have been a few interpretations of what this song was inspired by, with the most pervasive being that the song was based on the theme to the show “Mr. Ed”. The lyrics kind of follow that same structure, only with this track having weird intonations and pacing.

Favorite Aspect: I really like that spoken-word intro from Linnell and his clones. They’re funny.

Score: Well, this may be one of those older TMBG tracks that I rarely think about, but I still do like it a lot. It has a striking personality and such a different sound to it, enough for me to give it a 6/10.
