I Spent Days Building Free Tools… Then Realized Nobody Cares Until You Solve One Tiny Problem
A few weeks ago, I had this idea:
“What if I build a website with free online tools?”
Simple idea.
So I started coding.
💻 The Build Phase Felt Amazing
I built tool after tool:
- Image Compressor
- QR Generator
- JSON Formatter
- Word Counter
- Password Generator
- Bulk QR Code Generator
Every time I finished one, it felt productive.
I thought:
“This is going to get traffic fast.”
📉 Then Reality Hit
After deployment:
- 0 users
- 0 clicks
- Almost no traffic
That was painful.
I kept opening:
- Google Analytics
- Search Console
- Vercel dashboard
…hoping something changed.
Nothing changed.
🧠 Then One Small Problem Changed Everything
One day I needed to generate around 100 QR codes quickly for a project.
I searched online.
Every tool had:
- limits
- login requirements
- slow processing
- annoying paywalls
So I built my own solution.
A simple:
🚀 Bulk QR Code Generator
No signup.
No limits.
Just paste data and generate.
🚀 Something Interesting Happened
That single tool started getting more attention than everything else.
Why?
Because it solved one real problem.
Not a generic idea.
A real use case.
That completely changed how I think about products.
💡 Most Beginners Build for Themselves
I realized I was making tools I thought were “cool.”
But users only care about:
- saving time
- solving pain
- making life easier
That’s it.
🔥 What I Learned About Building Products
❌ “Build and they will come”
Usually false.
✅ “Solve one painful problem”
Much better.
📈 The SEO Rabbit Hole
Then I started learning SEO.
And honestly…
SEO feels harder than coding sometimes.
I learned about:
- impressions
- CTR
- canonical URLs
- indexing
- metadata
- long-tail keywords
Things I completely ignored before.
😅 The Funny Part
Coding the tools took days.
Learning how to get people to FIND them?
That’s taking much longer.
🚀 Current Goal
Now I’m focused on:
- solving tiny real problems
- improving SEO
- writing content
- consistency
Slowly, traffic is increasing.
Not viral.
Not huge.
But real.
And that feels motivating.
💭 Biggest Lesson
People don’t care how much work you put in. They care whether your product helps them.
That one sentence changed how I build things.
🙌 Final Thoughts
I’m still early in this journey.
Still learning.
Still experimenting.
Still building.
And honestly?
That’s the fun part.

If you’re building something too — keep going 🚀
