Isn’t Pakistan The New Soviet Russia?

Usually, politics bores me to death, but this time, it feels like I’m living a major canon event. George Orwell, a deeply inspirational author (literally), wrote a masterpiece known as “Animal Farm” based on the events surrounding the Russian Revolution. Sure, Orwell’s dead for now, but there are great authors in every era, critically analyzing situations and transforming them into something incapable of being forgotten, right? At least we’ll get a literary wonder out of this historically deceptive government, so cheers to that!

Now, let’s get down to the weird similarities between the Pakistani government and Soviet Russia, including the before-and-after. The tyrannical British governance over the subcontinent was identical to the rule of the controlling Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, although the British must be given credit for manipulating their controlling ways to seem “modern”. Anyways, Karl Marx would be Allama Iqbal, the original thinker, the one who specified and sharpened the idea. Lenin could be Jinnah, righteous, perfect, and pure, the leader with strong and morally correct ideologies that both countries needed. Trotsky would be Liaquat Ali Khan, since both of their intents were never actually clear, whether they started a dictatorship on purpose or not. Oh, and then, we have Asim Munir, the classic Joseph Stalin. The perfect dictator. Really. Bajwa can’t even compete with him for the resemblance, but we have to give him some credit for creating the perfect pupil to look after the country once he was gone. The current dictator’s martial rule is on a whole other level. Those fabricated legal cases against Imran Khan complete my fantasy of living in a historical era, albeit a horrible one.

Even though his commitment to democracy and justice is constantly showcased, I’d like to highlight a comparatively minor outcome of his rule. Someone I know was sent to jail for about nine months, and thousand others were sentenced to jail time, with the maximum leading up to a lifetime without a fair trial. Actually, forget a fair trial, I’m not sure if it was even legal or not, but then again, the constitution is in accordance with the moods of the Chief of Army Staff, right? Most of them didn’t even do any damage, and the ones who only committed minor criminal offences. It’s not like they were running some terrorist organization. We’ve evolved since 9/11 (not that 9/11 wasn’t evolved). Some fines or minor community services should have been imposed. And you know what? I’m pretty sure this didn’t surprise you as much as it should because isn’t this pretty much the new normal? This is the peak of manipulation. I’m a proper enthusiast of sporting psychology, and, with Asim Munir’s traditionalist methods, I didn’t expect him to entertain the idea, but clearly I was wrong. I have to say, functionalists from around the world must applaud his understanding of deception, since he promotes capitalism in every possible way. Similarly, Stalin had developed a “cult of personality,” elevating himself as leader while the labor force worked to death for the capitalist society.

For the sake of saying, Pakistan has multiple private political parties and media in contrast to Soviet Russia, but is it true? The political parties have no real power; even if the public votes for them, the military is the one who chooses who will govern the country, and of course, it is according to the army’s political stance. As soon as someone starts threatening their stronghold over the country, they are immediately removed. The so-called private media is forced to obey the fundamental rule: never say anything against the unofficial dictators. So, are we really different? How are we not progressing backwards?

According to official standards, Pakistan is a “democratic” country, but we all know it isn’t. Even AI, which is never supposed to be biased on these matters, admitted that “Pakistan’s intelligence and military institutions operate within a modern state framework and are subject — at least formally — to legal and institutional constraints.” The “at least” shows how well AI believes those twisted fabrications. Further resemblance to Soviet Russia. Let’s start learning Russian, shall we? Copying them will be easier that way.
