ION Network Engages Vocational High School, Introducing Fiber Optic & FTTH Training at SMK

ION Network continues its commitment to supporting the development of vocational education in the telecommunications sector. Most recently, the company’s expert team visited SMKN 1 Bojonegoro in East Java to deliver training on Fiber Optic technology and the implementation of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) for 10th and 11th grade students majoring in network engineering.

The program was conducted as a guest lecturer session. Two representatives from ION Network provided comprehensive technical explanations covering the fundamentals of fiber optic systems, installation procedures, and the critical role of FTTH as the primary technology enabling modern home internet services. In addition to theoretical instruction, students were introduced to actual equipment commonly used in field network installations.

The training session was highly interactive. Participants engaged in discussions and were given the opportunity to observe firsthand how fiber optic devices operate. Many students demonstrated strong enthusiasm and curiosity, including Fajar, an 11th grade student majoring in Computer and Network Engineering. He shared that the session significantly increased his interest in pursuing a career in telecommunications. He explained that learning directly from industry technicians offered a different and more convincing experience compared to studying through books and videos, strengthening his confidence to work in the networking field after graduation.

From the school’s perspective, the productive teacher of the network engineering department expressed appreciation for the initiative. According to the teacher, industry-based training programs such as those conducted by ION Network play a crucial role in preparing students for the workforce. With the rapid expansion of internet network infrastructure across Indonesia, the demand for technically skilled professionals continues to grow.

To further motivate students, ION Network distributed merchandise and gift packages to those who actively participated and successfully answered questions during the session. This gesture served as both recognition and encouragement for young learners to continue developing their technical competencies with confidence.
