Holding Onto 2025.

The clock is ticking, tick-tock, tick, 2025, doing a quick-step, slick. Almost gone, a fading dream, And I’m stuck here, it would seem.

I haven’t done it, haven’t tried, All the things I kept inside. That perfect plan, the grand design, Now just a tangled, knotted twine.

Come back, 2025, please don’t go! Give me a chance, a second throw. I know I fumbled, messed it up, Drank from the wrong, sour-tasting cup.

The pressure’s on, a heavy weight, My single status, a cruel fate, According to those judging eyes, Filled with whispers, snide replies.

“Still single, eh? No little ones? Your life’s a waste, a setting sun!” They cackle loud, those silly geese, Disturbing all my inner peace.

I want them gone, those hateful souls, Banished to some icy poles. Their mocking laughter, sharp and mean, A constant jab, a painful scene.

But 2026? Oh, the dread! Another year piled on my head. More expectations, more to prove, Another mountain left to move.

Hahahaha! I laugh, though it’s a lie, Trying to hide the tears inside my eye. Pretending I don’t care a bit, While secretly, I want to quit.

So 2025, I’m begging you, Just one more chance, to see me through. To right the wrongs, to make amends, To find some happiness that transcends…

This pressure cooker, this harsh glare, To breathe again, a breath of air. Before the new year crashes in, Let me, just once, truly win.

So stay a while, don’t disappear, Hold back the clock, quell all my fear. 2025, my hopeful plea, Just a little longer, stay with me!
