Cattle for Sale: Should I Dive Into Business?

AMBARAWA — Setting foot in cattle trading business has always shown a good prospect. The constant need of dairy products become one of the reasons why it appeals amongst other developing business. Farmers keep raising their cattles and there will always many people looking forward its sale. Even in Pasar Pon, cattle trading site was one of the most crowded section in the market. However, the real question is, does it actually worth every effort to dive into this business? Or was it hyped for the crowd and vibe only?

According to Febrian Dhamma, as someone who has been actively involved in cattle trading business, it is affirmed that this business may brought significant amount of profit. He explained that the price when he first bought a calf was far below the price he could sold it later (12/5).

“Ini tergantung jenis sapinya, tapi biasanya sapi limosin yang umur lima tahunan bisa sampai ratusan juga.”

During the same interview, Febrian emphasized that the value of a cattle was highly affected by the rearing process that the farmers did until it reached its maturity. If the process was done in the correct manner, the cattle might be categorized into good quality which would increase its value and price.

When selling a cattle, farmers should obtain the ability to read market situation. If there are any upcoming events that might piqued transaction rate — Eid Al-Adha as an example — it would be better for the farmers to set their cattle for sale since there were higher chance of price increasement which could brought bigger profit to the farmers.

Immersing one’s self into this business has been proven profitable, as long as they acquire adequate knowledge upon the correct strategy. Knowledge in rearing the cattle and reading market situation became such crucial skills for someone who are interested in cattle trading business. While the chance is still there, people could buy one now and sell it later in the future.
