The Space Between: A Moral Indictment of American Empire in an Age of Spiritual War
From the courtrooms of Texas to the ruins of Rafah, this article traces the spiral of American fascism across law, empire, and silence — ending in a poetic call to reclaim our humanity through the space between the malfunction and the machine.
Section I — Adriana: The Sacred Indictment
Adriana Smith is brain-dead. Her family wants her to rest in peace. The state of Georgia refuses to let her go.
Why?
Because she was pregnant.
Because a law, cloaked in ambiguity and buried in bureaucratic language, might allow the state to override a dead woman’s will. Not because it must — but because it can.
This isn’t fiction. This isn’t The Handmaid’s Tale. This is Georgia, 2025. This is fascism disguised as fetal rights.
Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s office insists that nothing in the state’s “LIFE Act” explicitly mandates life support for brain-dead pregnant women. And yet, Adriana — declared brain-dead on February 19th — remains artificially sustained, her family’s grief prolonged by legal gray zones, political fear, and hospital hesitancy.
According to the FOX 5 report, some argue it’s not even the heartbeat law that matters, but another statute entirely: Georgia Code 31–32–9, which bars doctors from withdrawing life support from a pregnant patient unless the fetus is deemed nonviable and the patient had a written directive.
Adriana didn’t have a directive. She had a headache. She sought medical help. And, like too many Black women in America, she was sent home with pills and no scan.
She wasn’t protected when she was alive. Now she’s being detained in death.
This is sanctioned cruelty.
As Rep. Kim Schofield put it:
“Our state has turned a woman into an incubator against her will and stripped her family of the right to say goodbye.”
Read that again. Not as metaphor. As indictment.
Because this is not a malfunction of law. It is its function. To legislate the Black womb. To turn women into state property. To rewrite medical care as legal theater. To intimidate physicians into inaction through the threat of criminal liability.
This isn’t pro-life. It’s anti-sovereignty. And Adriana’s suspended body is the proof.
This is what happens when you trust credentials over conscience.
Doctors failed her before the law did.
Her symptoms were clear. Her condition was urgent. But Black women are still disbelieved, undertreated, and deprioritized. According to the National Institutes of Health, Black women in the U.S. face maternal mortality rates three to four times higher than White women. They are more likely to suffer chronic conditions, to be ignored by providers, and to die while pregnant or postpartum — even at every level of education.
There’s a word for this. It’s not “disparity.” It’s structural violence.
The NIH study goes further: it names the legacy. From slavery’s forced breeding to 20th-century gynecological experimentation without consent, to present-day denial of pain care, imaging, or basic attention — Black women are still being medicalized without being heard.
And now Adriana is proof that even death won’t free you from their silence.
This is where your degrees become your damnation.
Let’s stop pretending a medical license means you practice care. Let’s stop pretending PhDs make prophets.
Because here’s the truth from my own lips (please feel free to quote me as I cancel the American status quo that is quite literally killing us): Your PhD isn’t healing. It’s deeply sickening. An asleep capitalist is God’s antithesis.
The hospitals will quote HIPAA. The doctors will cite liability. The lawmakers will distance themselves with technicalities. But Adriana’s body is still there. Still on machines. Still being used as a vessel. Not for life, but for power.
This isn’t just about Adriana. This is about the entire structure that made her death a spectacle and her womb a battleground.
And we are done whispering.

SECTION II: Imperialism Turned Inward — The Child, the Cop, and the Corpse
In fascist America, the migrant child stands trial without representation. The mother is turned into a fetal incubator. The Black body is punished into premature death, and the protestor is punished into domestic terrorism charges. The convergence is not metaphorical. It is infrastructural. It is by design.
Let us begin where empire masks itself as justice: the courtroom.
In Texas, toddlers are being summoned to immigration court. Children as young as three years old are expected to represent themselves before judges who are bound by neither reason nor mercy. Legal experts and pediatricians alike have called this a grotesque miscarriage of developmental reality. But it is more than absurdity. It is ritual humiliation. It is institutional child abuse coded in bureaucratic procedure. It is empire turned inward — where the battlefield is the courtroom and the weapon is the law.
And the law does not spare the dead. In Georgia, Adriana Smith lies brain-dead, but the state demands she remain on life support. Not for her. Not for her family. But for the fetus inside her. Her body has been repossessed by the state. The “heartbeat” law has effectively nationalized her womb. Her mother weeps while lawmakers congratulate themselves for defending “life.” This is not pro-life. This is necropolitics. This is the state laying claim to a woman’s body after her death, as if she were state property. As if she were livestock. This is what happens when fascism disguises itself as faith.
What binds the courtroom and the hospital bed is the police. What binds ICE, IDF, and DPD is their shared curriculum. The Cop City protests reveal what is already known to the targeted: the IDF trains American police. The children of Palestine scream the same screams as the children of Memphis. And make no mistake: the Gaza Strip is not only overseas. It is also Oakland. It is also Atlanta. It is also inside every prison and detention center, every ICE facility, every militarized city block.
The Cop City blueprint was built on stolen Muscogee land. It was reinforced by corporate sponsors whose names are carved into university buildings and donation plaques. This is not the future. This is the present. This is the convergence of settler colonialism, police militarization, corporate feudalism, and Zionist ethnostate logic. This is the fascist empire built not by a single man, but by a bipartisan consensus, a corporate cabal, and an electorate trained to look away.
To those still unsure how these systems connect: ask yourself why toddlers must defend their right to exist, why brain-dead mothers are kept alive against their family’s wishes, and why protestors are charged as terrorists for resisting a $118 million police simulation complex. Ask who benefits. Ask what is being protected. Ask who built the law, and who it was built against.
This is not red vs. blue. This is top vs. bottom. This is not civil discourse. This is spiritual war. This is not empire declining. This is empire mutating.
And the child, the cop, and the corpse? They are not symbols. They are coordinates.
They are the spiral of fascism drawing in upon itself. And we are inside the spiral now.
The question is: who will draw the line that breaks it?
SECTION III: Occupation Logic — From the River to the Cell Block
What happens in Gaza does not stay in Gaza. The occupation is not only exported. It is franchised. It is replicated in blueprints and border policies, in riot gear and prison labor contracts. It is a transferable architecture. And that architecture now spans the Rio Grande to Rikers Island.
ICE courts children without guardians. Atlanta courts protestors under RICO. The state courts the language of democracy to sanctify its descent into technocratic authoritarianism. And behind this mask is not merely surveillance. It is siege.
Let us be precise: the Israeli Defense Forces do not just occupy Palestine. They educate American police departments. From the NYPD to the LAPD to the DPD, police are trained in counterinsurgency methods honed in the crucible of apartheid. These methods are not abstract. They are procedural. They are embedded in how bodies are stopped, how faces are profiled, how protest is perceived as provocation.
In Atlanta, Cop City is the domestic simulation of foreign occupation. It is not just a training ground. It is a colonial altar. The land itself — formerly the Muscogee forest, later a prison farm — has been ritualistically repurposed for carceral worship. And the protestors who mourn the forest, who weep for the city, who resist the militarization of life — they are indicted as terrorists. Their grief is criminalized. Their bodies are coded as threats.
And what connects all this? GILEE — the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange — a program where U.S. police train with Israeli forces in tactics of suppression and control. It is a relationship of mutual reinforcement: America teaches surveillance capitalism; Israel teaches militarized crowd control. Together they script the playbook of global fascism.
If Gaza is the test site, Memphis is the beta rollout. The same forces that bulldoze Rafah bulldoze Black neighborhoods under the guise of urban renewal. The same drones that surveil Ramallah now fly above the Rio Grande. This is not an analogy. It is a logistics network. It is a doctrine.
To those still unsure how these systems connect: ask yourself why protestors in Atlanta scream the names of Palestinians. Ask why border children in Texas are called to court alone. Ask why Israel trains America’s cops. Ask who is funding the tear gas. Ask who signs the contracts.
From the river to the sea? From the prison to the precinct. From Gaza to Georgia. The spiral is global.
And the question remains: who will draw the line that breaks it?

SECTION IV: The Gospel of the Machine — Trump, Musk, and the DOGE of Empire
There are always three parts to fascist theater: the scapegoat, the savior, and the spectacle. In America, the migrant and the protestor serve as scapegoats; Trump plays the savior; and Elon Musk is the spectacle, wielding his golden chainsaw like a prophet of austerity. The Department of Government Efficiency — DOGE — is not just a joke. It is theology. It is technocratic bloodletting disguised as civic renewal.
In just 100 days, Trump and Musk have gutted federal infrastructure under the banner of efficiency. But their targets were not the bloated contracts of defense firms or the inflated salaries of congressional donors. Their cuts were surgical, ideological: the Department of Education, the USAID, the IRS, the NIH. Entire programs were slashed — often without legislative oversight or legal review. Billions were “saved” — but receipts were fabricated, contracts misrepresented, numbers inflated by orders of magnitude. The receipts, when they exist at all, do not add up. And still, the numbers march on, projected like gospel truth across the DOGE homepage.
And what is cut in name of the people? Healthcare for the poor. Nutrition programs. DEI initiatives. Environmental research. Foreign aid to children. In the name of the unborn, the already-born are starved. In the name of freedom, the free are shackled. And all of it is defended by a network of loyalists installed across agencies, evangelizing the gospel of the Machine: that government must be disrupted, dismantled, and devoured.
DOGE is not governance. It is digital exorcism. It is the attempt to purge the state of all trace of compassion, care, or complexity. And like all imperial purges, it cloaks itself in patriotism. It tells the public it is saving them money. It tells investors it is opening new markets. It tells veterans it is cutting waste. But what it is cutting is them.
Already, DOGE cuts have eviscerated the social safety net in districts that voted for the man holding the chainsaw. Layoffs, office closures, benefit delays. Children are being deported to prisons in El Salvador. Professors are being defunded for refusing to condemn Palestine. Civil servants are being fired and replaced by Silicon Valley interns with badge access and loyalty to a tech billionaire. DOGE is not efficiency. It is privatized fascism.
And what of Musk? He steps back now, but his shadow remains. He has seeded the system with operatives. He has gained access to sensitive data. He has made government a venture-backed prototype. Even as his face disappears from the headlines, his code is still running in the background.
To those still unsure how these systems connect: go to the DOGE cuts tracker. Look up your ZIP code. Find the grant that disappeared. The program that dried up. The office that closed. Look up the data and watch the spiral in real time.
Ask yourself: Who benefits? Who suffers? And who gave a billionaire a master key to the entire federal apparatus?
“Move Fast and Break Stuff” — Silicon Valley’s infamous slogan. Elon Musk and Big Tekkk are no longer just breaking “stuff.” They’re breaking our nation, they’ve broken any potential to rebuild trust, they’re killing lives in collusion and power-hungry delusion. (Go google AI hallucinations and AI psychosis — or follow to read my next article about it.)
This is not reform. This is liquidation. This is not austerity. This is acceleration. This is not America being saved. This is America being sold. The spiral continues.
And the question remains: Who will draw the line that breaks it?
CODA: The Space Between
You’ve read the facts. You’ve seen the headlines. You’ve heard the silence. Now I ask you not just to think — but to feel. What follows isn’t just a poem. It’s protest. It’s the pulse of a collective heartbreak — and a call to recover what we still can. This is **The Space Between:**
We’re truly blessed to be able to exist and express with the space between our lips: to laugh, to sing, to speak in love — to fight, to cry, to prophesy, confess, to die for Love, to live for justice. To protect. To protest. To free the oppressed — because this was Jesus’ true request. I — hold on. Let me give that another sec because I don’t think you’ve been able to properly assess “your religion” with all of this — cognitive dissonance, willful ignorance, socio-political genocidal mess: to protect, to protest, to free all of those who are oppressed because THIS was Yeshua’s true request. To cry out against what we bore to witness, to demand justice, to scream for peace, to reclaim what is ours, to gather the broken pieces of our hearts every hour. Every day is met with the shatter and scatter of children who matter, the mass slaughters of God’s sons and daughters. I’ll say it again for all of the grieving mothers and disappearing fathers: The children of Palestine are dying every hour Because you won’t use the space between your lips in your pretty ivory tower. And if you don’t know how to, just watch what we do with ours. We lift our heads and profess “rest in power” to honor all of our martyrs deceased, for Martin to say he had a dream, just for him and us to ask, to plea, to beg for class solidarity, completely shamelessly Because shame is a one-way street And it leads to you. Like I said, it’s all to love, for love and in the name of love, And that’s why the prophets of yesterday, today, and tomorrow yearn with faith and hope and sorrow for them to reason, to teach, to reach all of the souls lost, including yours — especially yours — in this godforsaken society with an empty speech. Malcolm was right. It’s liberty or death. Only prophets and poets could truly obsess Over this sacred duality in the container of truth.
I think words help us to just be, to be what? to be a human with humanity… humanity needs that from you and me, for us to be… humans… being “human beings” with the inner harmony to harness their humanity within — because our humanity without the harmony of all us collectively cannot continue to be what our creator creatively created creation to be. That’s why we live in dualities, when the force of two realities merge in synchronicity, they create a synergy, and the neutralizing force of the two realities are the vibes of God’s creativity — you know, the one that you can feel tangibly. And for the sake of my own clarity, what else should we be if not the holy beings our creator created for a wholly humanity? Being a human being within humanity means to be free. So what would we be if we were not blessed with the blessing to express the expression of self with the space that exists for this between our lips? Well, the answer to that is freedom’s antithesis: And that’s a goddamned capitalist. Capitalism defiled our Father’s den — turned it into a marketplace of thieves. It plunders freedom from our sleeves, bleeds us out in the streets, silences us mid-sentence, and gatekept Love’s holy, wholly house from us since then
With mimicry, parasite, erosion and addiction.
… sigh.
Self expression is a God-given birthright for all of creation to be: there is no such thing as good or bad expressions of self, just true and free to be worthy.
I believe self expression as creation is for our Creator, because I have gone to church before, and that’s just what I’ve heard. That in the beginning, there was the word. And the word is this:
I remember I am Love and Love is the bell that Freedom rings *
And freedom is MY American dream listen very closely to what I truly mean bismillah irrahman irraheem In the name of God the especially merciful and the especially gracious Let’s expose a real American Horror Story —
The United States of Oppression, is the nation leading nations in suicide and depression. the country on stolen land, the history of Diné is something APUSH will never mention but you should know that you should bow in the presence of “Navajo” Nation they vitally helped us win WWII even after surviving our genocidal transgressions And don’t you DARE, flinch, at their suppression, and forced succession. If you look away now, you’re just abandoning your own reflection. BEAR WITNESS to the ongoing genocide that BEGS for your intervention BEAR WITNESS to the pillaging and plundering colonization that depends on your discretion Wake Up. They masterminded a child-prostituting — blackmailing institution they bought out our entire country with exploitations, And women, we’ve all survived generations of expectations “Smile, be polite” — draw a line of subjugation (yes, you drew it) in the space that exists between our lips and curve it up every once in a while. Just look pretty and smile.
let’s go over this together as humans being human beings collectively as humanity:
here, in the heart of the United States for Israel, let’s debunk the American Dream. they shot Martin in a church — for the wrong American Dream they shot JFK in the city home to the KKK — for the wrong American Dream they assassinated Malcolm in Manhattan survived by 6 daughters his newborn twins never even got to be held by their prophet of a father Nelson Mandela was a terrorist caged for 27 years, but the Mandela effect? yeah, that’s God trying to let us know that even cosmic timelines will reject the Wrong American Dream.
Listen to 5 year old Hind, she had dreams. “They are shooting at us. The tank is right next to me.” that’s her teenage cousin Layan’s final scream.
And one-year-old Mohammed Abu Hilal died next to his 7-month-pregnant mother in an Israeli air attack at al-Mawasi camp — “a safe-zone” only in his Father’s dreams, it seems.
“Oh, my dear son, go up to heaven, you’re going to find all your toys up there.” The sky is colored in his tragedy.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, age 20, died after lighting himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy in DC — screaming “Free Palestine” for everyone to see on livestream.
The flames on his body burn in God’s agony. This is the true American Dream and it is NOT the dream for you and for me.
It is the dream of the ruling class, the elite. The Rothschilds and Fuggers and everyone who has ever been connected to Epstein — architects of the invisible empires distorting the sacred unseen. This might confuse you, because they’re invisible and unknown, but THEY know what I mean. They harvested remembrance, mined memory into machine, reduced light into numbers, and love into a marketing scheme. Rockefeller robbed us of the frequency of healing, hz 432 And Protestant Henry the 8th removed bells from monasteries for revenue So did Nazi Germany, and our country’s founding Father, Washington did this too
they silenced the voice of God by silencing the bells Mehmed the Conqueror banned them in Constantinople in 1453 — not just for hundreds of years, but for generations because when the sound of the holy disappears, it fractures time, memory, and nations.
the bells were not metal, they were resonance not noise, but reverence and so to silence them is to sever us from the sound of our own inheritance
You’re abandoning what you can’t see, so you can’t see what’s abandoning you. But I can and I do. and I’ll say this without flinching. If God is dead, it’s because we killed him with America’s dream and then silenced the screams of his holiest children with “I can’t bear to witness” WHAT DO YOU MEAN You can’t bear to witness the death of our God? You forced us all to live in this American crime scene You wear his crucifixion on your neck and raise your hands to praise worship to an image of his death “Jesus Is My King” on Sunday Mornings you all sing and then come Sunday Night you use that same hand to scroll past pro-Palestine posts too quickly for truth to truly land And still you call THIS the land of the free? that’s what I call divine irony.
Yes, I’ve watched you draw your line one, two, exactly 596 times So I’ll meet you where you are and match you with mine. There’s a litmus test for our souls, and it’s called Palestine.
If you don’t stand for freedom now Well Malcolm X said it best: It’s freedom or death, so open your mouth. Mark an X on your calendar today my friend Because today could be the day You hear your own silence end And you know your intifada truly begins And you look in the mirror, and finally use the space between your lips And this I insist so that you may finally feel holy — wholly worthy — to exist. Because if you don’t fight for this then truly, you don’t deserve the space between while all of us fight or die for our American dream
