PATRIARCHY

There is a word for socially untouchable, culturally dominant men with the organized, privileged, entitled clout to control if and when girls and women are seen and heard in public, and to what degree (if at all), and with what respect or contempt.

THE SILENT TREATMENT

The apparently untouchable, culturally dominant New York Times and its star opinion writer, Nicholas Kristof, have made a series of decisions aimed at muting the (mostly) female rape victims of murderous Gazan males. These decisions have included:

1. PASSIVE AGGRESSION

Kristof and the NYT declined to convey news of the release of a 300-page investigative report meticulously documenting Gazan males’ mass sexual atrocities targeting girls and women.¹–³

The journalism term is killing the story.

The psychology terms are withholding (attention), and giving the silent treatment.

2. ACTIVE AGGRESSION

Instead, Kristof and the NYT preemptively published — and gave front-page prominence to — Hamas front organization Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor and alleged Hamas recruiter Sami al-Sai’slurid fantasies of dogs raping men.

3. MOCKERY

Kristof also appropriated the investigative report’s title, Silenced No More. He titled his opinion “The Silence That Meets the Rape of Palestinians.” As if the planet’s loudest loudmouths — (male) jihadis, and the West’s raucous pro-jihad mobswon’t be heard without Kristof and The Times coming to their rescue with amps dialed up to 11.

Here are the girls’ and women’s voices that Hamas operative Ramy Abdu, Founder and Chairman of Euro-Med, scorns as “shallow and worthless” — and that Kristof, the NYT, and Euro-Med want to distract you from hearing:

ANNOTATED FOOTNOTES

  1. “CAMERA Statement: Grave Issues in Kristof’s Sexual Assault Column”: “The authors informed the New York Times of the report, and reportedly of its publication date, but the newspaper declined to pursue the story. Instead . . . the New York Times and its columnist Nicholas Kristof chose the evening before the report’s publication to publish an Opinion piece equating Israel to Hamas and charging ‘Israeli sexual violence’ by prison guards . . . . The article . . . seems designed to distract from a report incriminating Hamas, which is to say designed to protect Hamas.”
  2. David Lange, “How the New York Times Laundered Dubious Sexual Abuse Claims Against Israel”: “Instead of allowing attention to focus on documented crimes committed against Israelis, the Times shifted the conversation back toward alleged Israeli misconduct.”
  3. Douglas Murray, “Why would the NY Times make such horrific claims about Israel? The reasons are several-fold”: “[I]f you know that a report is coming out into Hamas’ use of sexual violence, then it is clearly very important to invent a claim even more appalling than the real-life crimes of Hamas.”
