Severance: A Show That Made Me Want to Quit TV Altogether

I hate Severance. There, I said it. This show isn’t “genius” or “thought-provoking.” It’s unnerving, unsettling, and honestly made me feel physically nauseous. If the goal was to make me question the meaning of life while simultaneously wishing I had never clicked play, congratulations, mission accomplished.

The Vibe: Corporate Purgatory

Every episode feels like being trapped in an office nightmare that never ends. Endless beige hallways, soulless cubicles, fluorescent lighting so harsh it should come with a seizure warning. I could practically smell the stale coffee and sadness. Instead of entertainment, I got flashbacks to every terrible job I’ve ever had.

The People: Robots with Anxiety

The characters all talk like they’re in some cult run by Microsoft Excel. Nobody has normal human energy — just monotone voices, blank stares, and cryptic mumblings about “macrodata refinement.” What even is that? If you can explain it, you deserve a Nobel Prize. Or at least a free coffee for surviving the boredom.

The Mood: Nausea in HD

Some shows give you excitement, laughter, maybe a tear. Severance gave me dizziness. The pacing is slow, the atmosphere is suffocating, and the whole thing feels like being stuck in a dentist’s waiting room where the magazines are all about grief.

Fans will say, “It’s about identity and free will!” Sure. But all I saw was Adam Scott looking sad in an office chair while I fought the urge to take a nap. If I wanted to feel unsettled about my place in society, I’d just open my bank account.
