The Source, an elegy
a poem
The Source, an elegy
However far it flows, can the river forget its source?
Can I become another — can I be born again of a mother who is not my mother?
Can I forget? If I did, would I cease to be; are we all just our memories?
Can I call him forth, like the Oracle, he who has vanished?
I remember the song in his voice, but I do not recall his words.
