The Google Cloud Digital Leader certification is a beginner-friendly way to understand what Google Cloud offers and how companies use it to solve real business problems. You don’t need deep technical experience.. just curiosity and a willingness to learn how cloud services fit together.

A quick tip before you start: if your company happens to be a Google Cloud Partner, check whether you’re eligible for a free exam voucher. Many partners offer the certification for free if taken within a certain timeframe.

That was my case, and it gave me the perfect incentive to jump in and complete it within less than a month.

With a bit of structure, a consistent routine, and the right free resources, you can comfortably prepare for this certification even if you’re new to Google Cloud. I ended up enjoying the process much more than expected, so here’s the exact method I followed and the habits that helped me feel “overly prepared” by exam day.

• Focus areas: you can refer to Google cloud official guide but in simpler terms by the end of your learning journey you will acquire these skills :

— Knowing the basics of compute, storage, networking, security, and analytics on GCP.

— Making informed decisions about when and why to use certain services

— Understanding responsibility models, cost management, and SRE principles.

How to Take the Exam

Google offers two test delivery options:

1. Online-Proctored

This is the option I chose. The experience was smooth, but your environment needs to be extremely minimal — clean desk, empty walls, no accessories or notes in sight.

2. On-Site Test Center

A traditional option for those who prefer a controlled environment without worrying about their room setup.

Both formats work equally well; it just depends on your preference.

How I Prepared in Less Than a Month

My study plan was intentionally simple and easy to stick to.

My Weekly Routine

• Study time: Around 2 hours per day
• Total duration: under one month
• Night habit: Answering 3–6 quiz questions before going to sleep (surprisingly effective and gets to me to sleep confortably in the clouds ..)

• ***ExamPro youtube course*** : I personally couldn’t get through it in one sitting. But it’s great to jump into specific sections whenever you need extra clarity on a feature or concept.
