Is It Just Me, or Do Your Inner Voices Never Shut Up?

It never fails.

I get up in the morning and just want to feel the keyboard under my fingertips.

I enjoy the flow of words, the sound they make in my head and when I’m clacking them out on the page in front of me.

Do you listen to the voices in your head?

When I see someone sitting quietly in a corner — maybe holding a cup as they stare off into space, I wonder if they are listening to the voices in their head.

I spend so much time listening to my own voices.

It’s not that they’re telling me to do anything; they are usually just beating me up (again and again!) over past mistakes. Do your voices do that?

And sometimes, the voices make up marvelous stories using snippets of information. It’s amazing!

Once while traveling in Dublin, I saw a pile of clothes on the sidewalk and the voices said it might be a homeless person changing and leaving the old things behind. Or it could have been an alien who left the clothes behind when he was beamed up to his spaceship. (I know; sometimes the voices have such silly ideas!)
