Scene Expansion

• Expand this scene to add more sensory detail to bring the setting to life for my reader. Be sure to use details that my character would notice. Be sure to maintain my voice and pacing in the scene.
• Use subtext and dialogue to add tension to this moment. Maintain my voice and style.
• Add a twist to this scene that changes the stakes. Provide three suggested hints I could add earlier in my piece to hint at this twist without giving it away.

• Cut filler words to make this exchange snappier but keep each line true to my characters’ voices, but make it more like people actually speak.
• Add a misunderstanding or miscommunication to make this exchange more realistic.

Description Deepening

• Rewrite this paragraph with richer, vivid metaphors that match my tone and story context.
• Add precise physical gestures that reveal hidden emotion and character tension.
• Describe this setting in weather or time of day that shifts the mood and supports the scene’s theme.
• Add a detail that hints at the character’s backstory through the setting or objects.

Plot Brainstorm

• Suggest three plot twists for this chapter and explain how I could foreshadow them.
• Propose the worst thing that could realistically happen to this character next and describe how it would raise the stakes.
• Add an unexpected consequence to this decision and show how it affects my character’s relationships.
• Offer a way to raise the stakes through a ticking clock or deadline. Suggest key places where I could add in details to increase the tension with this ticking clock or deadline.
• Describe a moral dilemma my character could face here and how it could divide the cast.

Voice & Style Shifting

• Rewrite this passage in a poetic style that uses vivid imagery and rhythm but keeps my narrative voice clear.
• Simplify this passage for a middle-grade audience by adjusting vocabulary, sentence length, and tone without losing meaning.
• Add light humor to this section in a way that fits my characters and tone without disrupting the scene’s flow.

Editing & Tightening

• Cut this passage by 30% but keep its meaning, tone, and narrative flow clear.
• Suggest exact lines or words to delete or combine to improve flow and readability.
• Propose ways to vary sentence length and structure to keep the reader engaged.
• Recommend where to add or adjust transitions to smooth the flow between ideas.
