The final stage in the rendering process, curing, is crucial to ensure the stability and durability of the render finish. After approximately 3–7 days, the render should be left to air-cure. This timescale can be affected by factors including the surrounding conditions, the mix, the render thickness, and the weather. The final finishing stage should not be rushed, and best practice is to carry out a test sample to ensure the render cure timescale is right.
