Internship Diaries: What Happened After Week 8

After Week 8, life genuinely started moving so fast that I had to open my gallery while writing this blog just to remember everything that happened. Not because I forgot (my memory isn’t that bad), but because I didn’t want to miss out on any moments worth talking about.

And honestly? Looking through those pictures made me realise something, my life has been more happening in these few months than the four years I’ve spent in Bombay. Which is kind of crazy to think about.

Anyways, getting back to the blog… after Week 8, we had a long weekend, so I went back home to Hyderabad to spend time with my family. And most importantly, I ATE. A LOT. OF. FOOD. Like genuinely unhealthy amounts of food. I’m attaching a few pictures because keeping all that visual happiness to myself would be selfish.

Then I came back to Bombay, back to work, back to the usual routine… except it doesn’t really feel “usual” anymore.

Over these past few months, my colleagues and I have become really close. We’ve shared a lot of funny moments, random conversations, work stress, and tiny everyday memories that somehow made internship life feel lighter. They’ve become my support system here. The best part is that they don’t just give fake reassurance when I mess something up — they actually help me figure things out and solve the problem. And I think that’s one of the reasons why my first real work experience has felt smooth and comfortable. They’re basically my first work family. Okay, I’ll stop here before their egos get too big.

Apart from work, life has been equally random and fun. I got a new tattoo, became slightly addicted to matcha after being influenced by a coworker(I genuinely thought it was overhyped, but I get it now), went bowling hehe iykyk, and somehow ended up being part of my first reel. Even though I was “just acting” in it, it was probably the first time I actually felt confident on camera.

I also gained new perspectives on design from a new colleague, which honestly reminded me how much there still is to explore creatively. And lastly — I ate a LOT of mangoes, which deserved its own mention because priorities.

OH MY GOD, WAIT! HOW DID I FORGET THE BIGGEST UPDATE???

I GOT MY GRADUATION DATE ANNOUNCEMENT. YOUR BABY INTERN IS GRADUATING 😭✋

Honestly, I still haven’t processed the fact that college is almost over. I have way too many thoughts, emotions, stories, and probably a small identity crisis attached to this moment, so this definitely deserves a whole separate blog of its own. Because trust me… I have A LOT to say.

Looking back now, this phase of my life feels like a mix of work, chaos, food, growth, and really good people. And for once, I think I’m actually enjoying the process instead of just rushing to the next thing.

Anyways, that was a quick little internship dump. I have WAY more stories to tell, but since most of y’all are Gen Z interns with the attention span of a scrolling reel… I’ll keep it short 😭

Until next time, XOXO, Shivi 💌
