Went to church. Saw a video from the conference in Oregon. T. & J2 visited. M. and I took a ride to the cemeteries and watered the plants. I need to trim. B. called.

Friday, August 9, 1991

78 degrees. Rain. Thunder. Nice. Went to the bank. Fixed papers for CD. Heavy rain on and off all day. R, DM, and the girls came to visit. B. wasn’t there, she has a new job. Nice to see them.

Thursday, August 15, 1991

90 degrees. Nice. Not too hot. S. drove M. and me to J&P’s and we got there at 10:30 a.m. Their cats were shy. It is very dry there too. Ate lunch out. Nice. Took a ride while there. Pretty there. Home by 5 p.m.

Friday, August 16, 1991

90 degrees. Cleaned. Went to Acme. Puttered. M., S., K.K. and J.M. left for Ocean City. Hope they don’t get the hurricane — “Bob.” Got a letter from my sister today with old family pictures. I was 10. I don’t remember ever seeing it before. Glad to get it.

Monday, August 19, 1991

74 degrees. Cooler. The hurricane is bad. Going east. M. and S. got home ok. I had a reaction at 8 p.m. Woke up on the floor at 1 a.m. Felt bad. My head ached and my legs ached. I was so cold. Got juice and sugar cubes. Went to bed at 2 a.m. Stormy.

I don’t remember this reaction that my grandmother describes. Lots of times she would have them while we were away, and my mom and I couldn’t help but wonder if she did something on purpose to have them for attention. I know, that sounds horrible to think, but if you knew my grandmother you’d know why we thought that. Very passive-aggressive. I remember the Ocean City trip she refers to, when my mom took her friend J.M. and I took my friend K.K. Good times, especially now that K.K. and I were both 21 and could go to the bars and dance (which we did just about every night we were there!)
