The Hiring Process at Vio

Our approach to hiring

At Vio, we believe hiring should feel clear, fair, and human.

Our process is structured and transparent. You’ll know what to expect and what we’re looking for — no guesswork.

We don’t make decisions alone. Hiring is a team effort here, so you’ll meet different people and hear a few perspectives along the way.

We value quality over speed. Hiring the right people is worth taking time for, and we’d rather be deliberate than fast.

We look beyond skills alone. Titles and years of experience only tell part of the story. What matters more is the impact you’ve made, how you approach problems, and whether you feel at home in how we work and what we stand for.

We’re drawn to people who raise the bar around them — motivated, thoughtful, and grounded in how they work with others.

We treat hiring as a two-way street. It’s not just about whether you fit us — we care just as much about whether Vio feels like the right place for you.

We’re based in Amsterdam, but also hire globally and remotely. Our team spans more than 40 countries — something we’ve built with care over time.

In short: no rush, no tricks — just a thoughtful process to find the right match on both sides.

How to apply to Vio?

  • Browse our Careers page or LinkedIn and pick the role that fits you best
  • Apply with your latest CV (in English) and answer a few application questions — done, you’re all set 🎉

Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll get a confirmation email. If it doesn’t show up, have a quick check in your spam folder — it sometimes plays hide and seek

From there, our team will review your application and get back to you within a week.

Our interview process

Our end-to-end process takes around 3–6 weeks, with feedback shared after each stage — usually within one week at the latest.

While each team may tailor the order and structure to best fit the role, every hiring process includes the following core elements to ensure candidates are assessed fairly, thoughtfully, and consistently:

Recruiter interview

  • 45–60 min, usually online
  • A high-level conversation about your background and experience, your motivation, and expectations — with a few practical questions along the way
  • A time for you to ask questions and get a better sense of the role, the team, and the company

Hiring Manager interview

  • 60–90 min, online or in person if you and the hiring manager are both in Amsterdam
  • A deeper dive into your experience to explore your fit for the role and the team
  • An opportunity to go further into technical topics and ask more in-depth questions

Skills Assessment (optional)

  • Take-home assignment, Technical interview, or a blend of both — depending on the role
  • A couple of hours in your own time, and/or a 60–90 min online session with your future teammates
  • A closer look at your role-specific skills — such as coding, analytics, design, or product thinking — and how you approach problems

Behavioural interview

  • 60–75 minutes, online or in person if you and the interviewer are both in Amsterdam
  • A conversation around our core values, and a chance for you to see whether Vio feels like the right place for you
  • Sometimes embedded across other interview stages rather than run separately

Final Working Session / Assessment Day

  • A few hours to a full day, online or in person if you and the hiring team are in Amsterdam
  • A series of collaborative sessions, that may include meeting the extended team, working on real-life tasks, and/or presenting your work to the team
  • A chance to get a real feel for how we work, what the role is like in practice, and the day-to-day vibe at Vio

Team alignment and Offer

Our team aligns within one week after your final interview, and we’ll share an update with you either way — we value clarity and want to make sure you receive transparent, constructive feedback.

If it’s a Yes, the next steps will be:

  • An offer call, followed by a formal offer letter via email
  • A reference check, while we gather the details needed for your contract
  • Kicking off your onboarding — if it also feels like the right fit for you and you choose to accept our offer

Regardless of the outcome, we’ll also send you a short candidate survey — your experience matters, and your input helps us continuously improve our process and candidate experience.
