The sky is grey. The clouds press low. He hides behind a smile, On a calm-before-the-storm day.
“You look nice.” I say, bitterly, on the tongue. ”You feel like a shelter.” Yet my voice trembles.
You play with me like a puppet. Am I your marionette? Will you string me up for your next show?
I loved you so much. More than anyone else. You knew, of course, you did. And you took full advantage of that.
I loved you so much. My heart can’t take any more of this. You knew, of course. Why wouldn’t you? Yes, go ahead, laugh. I made it easy for you, didn’t I?
Your smile melts even this numb heart. It’s beautiful on the surface, Yet it’s just one step away from ruin.
My brain has lovely delusions. The truths are deception, The lies are beautiful. Mistaking every pain as love.
His gaze has me hypnotised. Bitter cold. No warmth in this shelter.
I loved you so much. There was nowhere else I choose. Did you enjoy it? Did you share it as a joke? Of course, you did. “Just a stupid, helpless little girl.”
In the end, though, You weren’t the only one obsessed and possessive. You weren’t the only one becoming something worse.
But I won't cry for you. Good luck living with yourself. No one to blame for your mistakes. How does it feel to see me leave?
