Flawed

Like a Diamond or a Pearl.

Like a Diamond or a Pearl Like a Prince or an Earl In selection, what is perfection We all are flawed in each direction.

Squeaky clean or soiled Free from fault or spoiled We are all flawed, and that’s not all As hard as we have toiled.

Mirror, mirror on the wall Who is the sweetest of us all Cinderella with her slippers Or the roller coaster on big dippers.

Oh, what a beautiful baby You must have been a beautiful child And as life gets longer, there’s no time to linger Your style sent the others wild.

And then, as life gets fast You try to refine your craft But for one and all, Father Time called And in the end, we are all flawed.

Then skin slips down south, and the shape of your mouth Changes and chatters and lisps That’s the time to not be remiss Or pout for a long-lost kiss.

However, never be daunted Looks can be replaced by grace Acceptance and humility And being flawed like the human race.
