Forgiveness In God’s Mercy

Forgiveness. It is a gift of love from the beloved Lord and God, Jesus Christ. Forgiveness. It is an act of divine and sacred SACRIFICE. Forgiveness. It sets us FREE. Forgiveness. It gives us life — ETERNAL LIFE. Through this article, dear reader. You discover the freedom given through Jesus Christ. That is forgiveness.

Read for yourself the love that Jesus has. In the Holy Gospels. Indeed throughout the entire Holy Word of God. Christ Jesus’ love is told. Every word and verse speaks of Jesus’ love. The entire Bible leads to Jesus’ mission. His mission. It is to leave Heaven. To become fully man. To preach the good news of repentance from sin. To die on the cross, as the penalty for mankind’s sins. To rise from death after three days. This is the miracle of Christ’s mission here on earth. This is the gift of Jesus, salvation.

Reflection. Forgiveness is an act of divine and sacred LOVE.

When you read the Old Testament. It is not just a book of holy laws, wars, prophets and history. Oh! No. Look closer. Jesus is there, throughout. Jesus appears to Abraham. “The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby.” (Genesis 18:1–2, NIV)

The Lord was indeed a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus. When the Lord spoke to Moses in the burning bush. “God said to Moses, “I AM who I AM.” (Exodus:3–14, NIV) Read for yourself the Old Testament. There are many more times when Jesus appears. Both as the pre-incarnate Jesus. Also as prophesy of His mission in the future and other remarkable statements.

Read the blessed words of forgiveness. As Jesus the Lord and God hung on His wicked and soul-saving cross. “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34, NIV) The Lord, Christ Jesus forgave those mocking and cruel Roman soldiers. As they hammered in those wicked nails into His ankles and His wrists. The Lord loves and forgives.

Always remember. Jesus’ love and forgiveness are not based on merit. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2:8, NIV) It does not matter how hard you try. You can never earn your way into Heaven. Remember the Pharisees in Jesus’s day. They studied the Holy Scriptures. They followed the Holy laws of God. But, sadly they did not recognise Jesus as the way to the Father. “Jesus answered, “I AM the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, NIV)

Sadly, each time you and I sin. We also are the ones who spit on His glorious face. We too hammer in those Roman nails. Yet in His mercy and through His love. Jesus the LORD, the Saviour, the God. Forgives and loves us still.

Jesus’ love is your saving grace. Jesus is your salvation. Christ sets you free from your prison of sin. Your Lord gives you eternal life.

Saint Paul in his letter to the early Christians in Corinth. Tells that sincere and genuine love for one another. Entails that you forgive all those who sin against you. With the love of God. That you forgive each harm done to you. You bear no grudges. You harbour no contempt for those who have hurt you.

In other words. You forgive all those who have sinned against you. As Jesus has forgiven you. Completely and with the love of God.

Can you love and forgive as Jesus does?? YES!! Because you have God, the Holy Spirit abiding within. He will give you the strength and the courage needed as and when needed to do so. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” (1 Corinthians 3:16–17, NIV)

When you look at forgiving others through the heart of Jesus. You also see forgiveness as a soothing and a calming balm. A peace-giving balm that crosses all barriers. A soothing balm that recognizes no boundaries. Forgiveness does not discriminate. Skin color matters nothing. Nor does age, sex or social status. All that matters in love and in forgiveness is what is in your heart.

The healing and soothing balm of Jesus’ love and His forgiveness.

This world is overwhelmed with sadness. The darkness of sin is your prison which Jesus’ forgiveness releases. Wars and conflicts rage in every country and each nation. It is only the love and forgiveness of the Lord, Savior, Jesus which washes away your sins. The soothing and calming balm of forgiveness. Cleanses and fights the negativities of this sad, sad world. “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to You.” (Psalm 86:5, NIV)

Reading of Jesus weeping in His garden of Gethsemane on the eve of His crucifixion. You realize the Lord knows more than, you ever will of sadness and heartache. Unfortunately sadness and trials are all too common experiences for you.

You are loved, truly and forever loved by Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world. Because He suffered and lived through being separated from the Father, God. Jesus completely understands your sad and lonely times.

Jesus sees how people hurt you and cause you pain. The Lord knows you need His help, His support and His love. In Luke 17, Jesus teaches you to respond to wrongs done to you. With genuine forgiveness and sincere love.

Your Lord Jesus loves and forgives you as you forgive others.

Love and forgiveness go together for me. Like a chocolate cake and chocolate frosting. Each complete in of itself. But, oh! so much tastier. When combined. Yes? When you genuinely forgive a person who has done you harm. With sincere and pure love.

WOW! Another mountain has leapt into the ocean. Your load has been lifted. Your pain has been healed. Once more the love and the forgiveness of Jesus has worked its miracle. The soothing and calming balm of forgiveness. Has once more brought to you, peace.

The relationship between love and forgiveness. The Lord Jesus’ love and His ever-lasting forgiveness.

Love and forgiveness. When combined are irresistible forces. Divine and supernatural forces. That when used wisely change you for the better. Forgiveness and love when combined. Bring about positive changes in society and throughout the world.

When every soldier. In every army loves and forgives their enemies. Wars and conflicts cease. Wars and conflicts a mere — a distant memory. Love and forgiveness. When combined indeed shall create miracles. In the name of Jesus peace shall rule the world. Love is the all encompassing medicine. Forgiveness is the empowering tool.

Conclusion. Jesus, our Lord Forgives with His Powerful Love. Forgiveness is an act of divine and sacred LOVE.

Forgiveness brought through the beloved sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Brings freedom from the darkness of sins. Forgiveness breaks the chains of addiction to habits that only Jesus can release. Forgiveness is an act of SACRIFICE. Forgiveness sets us FREE. Forgiveness gives us life — ETERNAL LIFE.
