An aspiring horror-psychological novelist

My love for horror began when I watched Jaws(1975) for the first time. To say the least, the movie had an impression on me since I was a kid. From memory, I can recall the opening of Anaconda(1997) terrified me growing up. The irrational fear that an animal is going to come get you at night.

I wondered, what medium should I portray my horror storytelling?

These are unedited, raw thoughts that I’m putting in my post. I don’t expect people to read it. These are for my future self’s benefit.

I have a vast hunger for cinema. TV shows, movies, anime,…Anything I could watch, I did. I began to get desensitized to horror. In a way that begs the question, do I know real horror?

It was in my second year of college, riding the bus to be exact, that I knew, books is what I wanted people to read. A four part novel series, all fleshed out scribbled in my five subject notebook. I spent a year and a half working on my story. I took a hiatus to pursue jobs that would financially support me. Walking away was easier than I’d thought. It was a relief actually. The thought that my future self would take on the burden. Well, I’m my future self. Here it is, a measure to improve my writing ability the only way I know how. Just write more.

Of course I won’t ever go into detail about my novels but I do plan to write scenes I have in mind that are completely unrelated. It’s hard to get recognized, especially when you’re not planning on it.
