Your First Step into Linux Automation with DelphiWebDriver

Delphi has always been known for building fast, native applications — but modern browser automation on Linux or MacOS has been largely missing from the Delphi ecosystem. That’s exactly why I created DelphiWebDriver.
DelphiWebDriver is a native Delphi library that brings WebDriver Classic and WebDriver BiDi support directly to Delphi, with full Linux compatibility. It allows Delphi developers to automate modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, and Brave without relying on external languages or tools.
What makes this project especially powerful is WebDriver BiDi. Unlike traditional WebDriver’s request–response model, BiDi enables real-time, event-driven communication with the browser. This means you can capture live console logs, JavaScript errors, network activity, and more — directly inside your Delphi application.
With Delphi’s PAServer, you can compile your Delphi app for Linux, connect from the IDE, and run full browser automation natively on Linux. In the demo project, DelphiWebDriver starts a browser, subscribes to BiDi console events, opens Google, and captures console messages generated from JavaScript in real time.
The project is fully open-source and available on GitHub: https://github.com/DA213/DelphiWebDriver
DelphiWebDriver proves that Delphi is still a powerful choice for modern, cross-platform browser automation — including on Linux and MacOS.
