Spreading Light Tag Challenge

Zoe Dixon made my day. Not only did she write such a lovely poem dedicated to the emotionally mature and uplifting souls around us, but she also tagged me to spread the light.

Consider my poem below, a beam of liquid gold, written to melt away any clinging cold.

Salt & Ember

I see you.

There is a glow inside you, quiet and stubborn as an ember, and I know the smoke around you has been heavy. But light like yours was never made to hide.

Today whispered: A city on a hill cannot be hidden. And I thought of you. How your glow only waits for gentler winds to rise into flame.

I care for you.

I see the weight your shoulders have learned to carry, the tired in your steps, the way you keep going anyway. That is not small. That is everything.

If I could, I’d lift even a corner of that burden, just enough for you to remember, how it feels to move freely again.

I am here.

Melancholy and all, wide smile and all. Sanguine on the outside, soft on the inside, steady either way. You need not walk this path alone, I will stay.

Consider this a sunny glint, of care and love without a stint. And like salt, I want to bring out the flavour in every room I enter — including yours.

I see you. I care for you. I am here to support you.

My “I see you”: To anyone currently navigating the dark, wondering if their struggle is noticed. It is. You are not invisible, and your feelings are valid. Keep going.
