Pulkit Samrat sits down with *Variety India* for one of his most candid conversations yet, and drops a real one: “Bareilly Ki Barfi” was first offered to him. Specifically, the role immortalised by Rajkummar Rao opposite Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana. Pulkit couldn’t finalise it, and the rest is history.

In this exclusive interview, Pulkit Samrat opens up about his 15-year journey from “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” on Indian television to “Glory” on Netflix, learning the business side of Hindi films only after “Fukrey 3” and the piece of wisdom from Salman Khan that became an important philosophy: “Even I don’t have the guarantee of my next Friday. If Salman Khan can’t guarantee that, no one can.” *Pulkit shares what it was like watching Salman work 24/7*, sleep three hours, and treat every film like his first.

Pulkit also gets remarkably honest about his marriage to Kriti Kharbanda, saying she pulled him out of depression, taught him the value of therapy and continues to show him what true love looks like. An industry outsider himself, he jokes about Kriti and him working hard so that their kids will finally be called “nepo kids.” Pulkit further talks about being discovered on stage by Vaibhavi Merchant, why he never had a Plan B, learning boxing for his role in the series “Glory” opposite Divyenndu and Suvinder Vicky and the real punch he took from co-star and professional boxer Neeraj Goyat on set.
