Aging America

The U.S. Radiology Capacity Gap (https://kellyemrick.com/the-u-s-radiology-capacity-gap/) examines aging, imaging intensity, radiologist supply, and residency training from 2014 to 2055. The evidence resists the easy story. Federal modeling places radiology at 90 percent of demand in 2038, a persistent shortfall. Yet long-range projections show that supply and demand growth overlap, indicating that the claim that the national deficit must widen everywhere through 2055 is not supported. I have published a free interactive dashboard alongside the report: sixteen sections, every figure rebuilt as an interactive chart, and three working models. One of them distinguishes the adequacy of a headcount comparison report from that of a service standard report. Under published assumptions, that difference exceeds 20 percentage points.
