The Embracers 2026–11
In this work, “embrace” is no longer an emotional gesture, but a structural system.
The male body is no longer fully autonomous. It is absorbed into the depth of the background, where figure and space merge under continuous visual pressure. The boundary of the body becomes unstable.
In the upper part of the painting, an external horizontal “cut line” appears. It is not a narrative element, but a structural interruption that forces a reorganization of the entire bodily field.
In the middle-to-lower area, the woman’s right foot interlocks with the man’s lower body and thigh. This is not a simple juxtaposition, but a condition of mutual intrusion and mutual cutting. Boundaries are compressed, torn, and reorganized at the same time.
Here, the embrace becomes a superposition of three forces: contact, penetration, and collapse.
The body is no longer expressive — it is structured by relational forces.
