Shri Matre Namah

Kashmiri Shaivism or Trika which came around in 9'th century talks about non dual tantric philosophy.

Shiva is the supreme pure consciousness.

Shakti is Shiva's dynamic and creative energy.

Nara is an individual soul but limited by ignorance.

According to this tradition this material world as well as inner consciousness both of them are "divine expression."

Pure consciousness wanted ananda of self expression and so the universe came into existence.

Pure consciousness (Shiva) projects its own power Shakti outward to create the illusion of a subject -object world.

This playful dance of Shiva and Shakti gave the seed of this universe.

It is quite amazing to see this pure consciousness becoming world of solid matters.

Have you ever wondered how this happens.

Well this happens through the 36 tattva (building blocks of reality.)

They are the map of creation showing how Param shiva manifests from aikoham to bahushyami.

This is the first blog in my kashmiri Shaivism series and in this i will discuss about the first five of the 36 tattvas.

Pure tattva (Shuddha)

Shiva Tattva - Unmanifested pure consciousness;Static awareness

Shakti Tattva- Dynamic and creative divine energy.

Sadashiv Tattva - “ I am this world;”the emphasis is on self

Ishvara Tattva - This world is myself here emphasis on the creation

Sadvidya Tattva - I am myself and this world is the world

"Now Maya comes into play.Through the limitations, the five pure tattvas give rise to the individual purusha,and the remaining tattva unfolds."
