BULLET…..WECHAT’S NEW CHALLENGER IS NOW AT RISK

WeChat’s very recent as well as powerful new rival, that managed to reach the top of the App Store just after its launch, is now badly struggling. Bullet managed to hit the top spot on 24th of August. But unfortunately, the app in this week experienced a precipitous drop, moving from top place to right at the 72nd position overall in China’s iOS App Store on 6th of September, Based on the data shared by App Annie data. This is undoubtedly the worst ever ranking after its launch.

Bullet’s investor took a note of it. Smartisan CEO Luo Yonghao accepted that there is a slowdown and promised to invest around US$146 million to grab some 100 million users in the coming six months. He wrote regarding this on his yesterday Weibo. Till date, some seven million users already “activated” this app, as per Luo, but what is the exact number of the real active users is still not revealed.

Luo also added in his statement that Bullet will now embark to be on a hiring spree for wrapping up and to develop core functions. He also mentioned that Bullet never worked to replace WeChat — rather it aimed to offer an alternative tool to chat for people who actually value efficient communication.
