I Asked KitKat If I Should Sell the Bed He Never Used — And Then This Happened

Cats are like kids I suppose

My little buddy is quirky to say the least, and I love every aspect of his crazy personality. I buy him new toys, yet his favorite toy is a 15-year-old raggedy dog leash we now refer to as “The Kraken”, because he is after all, a pirate cat. As far as beds go, he has a funny habit of rotating random spots of where he wants to be for weeks at a time.

For instance, he would sleep on top of his cat tower for weeks, not set foot on it for a month, then decide he liked it again. He’s just a cat being a cat.

But a couple of months ago, I bought him a super-fuzzy bed because we were going to get an intense ice/snowstorm and I wanted to have something warm for him.

He stepped on it, but never once laid in it.

I don’t know if he thought it was too small or what, but it sat…for two months. So, the other day, as I was looking for things to declutter and sell, I looked at him and said, “Do you think I should sell your bed since you don’t use it?” and I sat down by it and fluffed it out, and the funniest thing happened.

He came over, got into it, and started making biscuits! 😂 Then he proceeded to snuggle into and take a much-needed nap. Well, needless to say, I’m not selling his bed, and he’s been snoozing in it quite a bit the past few days.

It cracks me up that he didn’t even bother with it until I was going to get rid of it. But I’m just happy he loves it now!

At the end of the day it was totally worth buying this bed for him. Now he is napping in it pretty frequently. But I’m jealous I can’t fit in there with him…
