Friday, May 10, 1991

74 degrees. Breezy. Got plants for the cemetery. It does not seem anyone is buried there. So many, many. They are waiting. R. & B. came to visit. Tired. Worried.

Saturday, May 11, 1991

Got up late for some reason. Feel ok. Cleaned. Must shampoo the carpet. R. & B. came again? I don’t understand them. I am afraid he is under the thumb of her family. He seems so taken up with all of them. M. & I went to the cemeteries with the plants.

Sunday, May 12, 1991

Mother’s Day. 90 degrees. Hazy. Not too hot. J&P came at 9:30. M. got the newspapers. We all went out to eat. It was nice. A good buffet meal. Walked around the grounds. Home by 2. J&P left at 3. T. & J2 brought me a hanging plant. A nice Mother’s Day.

Thursday, May 16, 1991

Went to doctor at 8:30. I take insulin at night now. I dread it. Feel fine. Went to drug store and Acme. T. & J2 came by. Brought me a holly bush. Planted it where the other one was. Looks nice.

Friday, May 17, 1991

Cleaned. Trimmed out front. I had a reaction after supper. I didn’t eat much, I guess. Got ok. M. was in and she got juice for me. Was ok after that.

I have to wonder if my grandmother didn’t eat as much on purpose the day after the doctor changed the timing of her insulin, just to prove that she was right about not wanting to change. She would do things like that; it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility. At least it sounds like it wasn’t a bad reaction this time. She is waiting to see her loved ones in the cemetery. I understand that. Almost everyone she has loved has died at this point. She would have to wait a while before seeing them again, however.
