How old is Sonic The Hedgehog?

As a huge fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, I have been doing a lot of thinking about how old Sonic could be right now. I have been talking it over with my mom on whether he could be older then the actual age of 15, the age that all of the die hard sonic fans know home as, and I kind of thought that this would be a good topic for discussion and my first medium entry. So anyway here is my thoughts on what I think about this topic.

So first thing that I want to point out and say right off the back, is that I’m sure that we all know for a fact that the first ever sonic the hedgehog game was released in the year of 1991, and so that gets me thinking that now that we are in the year of 2026, he could be older then 15 at this point. Because believe it or not sonic the hedgehog just had reached his 35th anniversary and that kind of makes me think that he is 35 years old now.

Because I was just watching the 1993 sonic the hedgehog show, and you guys can correct me if I’m wrong, but I was watching a handful of the shows episodes for the past several weeks, and I just found out that tails in the 1993 show was only like four years old, and sonic was older but I didn’t know for sure if he was 15 in that show. He could have been younger for all I know. But I don’t know. This is probably something that we the fans and people of the sonic community would probably not know for sure. But I’m sure that they can figure it out.

And even when I was a kid I always had wondered and thought to myself how old could the characters be in these cartoon shows, like take the 2003 Sonic X show for an example, I found that rouge the bat who is an female character that I like in the sonic franchise is probably around 18 years old. Again I don’t know that for sure, but that is what I think, And I have to say that it’s the same with the other characters that are in the sonic series and franchise, I still wonder how old they could be now.

Because I’m sure that is how a lot of kids feel when they watch cartoon characters from tv shows, movies and series that they loved watching when they were younger. They see a lot in these characters and they start to have a connection with them.

So Yeah, and anyway to everyone that has read this all the way through, I just wanted to point out and say that this has been something that just randomly popped in my mind every since I saw the second Sonic the Hedgehog movie in theatres when it first came out, and every since I’ve started collecting the sonic merchandise as well. And I have also have talked a lot about it with my mom and she probably doesn’t know for certain ether because she’s not to familiar with sonic the hedgehog or anything else that is Nintendo or Sega related.
