Under a Blue Moon

A covenant remembered through time

Many springs passed by me, leaving behind the wilted remnants of what was once life in its full bloom and prime.

Somewhere in my mind a thought of you resurfaced, like a withered tree resurrecting its leaves, that covenant of bond that existed between you and me.

Many full moons passed by, yet I held on to the vow: I will seek and unite with you in the rare glow of a blue moon.

The relentless waves kept reassuring me of an eternal promise, one that wouldn’t subside.

A draft of air that swept me off my gait pledged to bring you to me, echoing your name through the distant horizons and whispering it into my yearning heart.
