Crashr Protocol August Updates

Perfecting the Protocol and Elevating User Experience

August has been an exciting month for Crashr. Our token sale went live early this month, and our founder met many partners and community members at Rare Evo! As we close out August, we’re heading toward our next update for the Crashr Protocol. We’re very excited to showcase what’s coming end of this month and dive into each detail throughout this article.

Here’s a bird’s-eye view of what you can expect to learn more about:

  • Token Verification System
  • Backup and Monitoring System
  • Chang Hard Fork
  • Metamask Integration
  • Further Bug Fixes, Leading to Perfection

Let’s finish August stronger than ever and continue pushing to the end of 2024 with some bangs.

Token Verification System

As previously noted, the blockchain is flooded with derivatives and countless tokens. Since our transition from testnet to mainnet, there has been an exponential increase in the number of assets — now totaling roughly 12 million on the mainnet. All these assets are indexed in our database using our very own Crashr Sync to capture on-chain assets via a node. We created this system to ensure lightning-fast data while remaining flexible to community-driven ideas.

Now, verifying a token will be as simple as filling out a form on Crashr with the backend being complete, and the frontend being worked on.

Enhancing Search

Given the vast amount of blockchain data we manage, delivering instant search capabilities can be quite challenging. We draw inspiration from systems like Google and Bing, which handle petabytes of data and provide instant results within milliseconds. Motivated by these technical achievements, we are committed to heavily investing in advanced search technologies in the coming weeks to enhance how Crashr handles large datasets and improves overall platform performance. As we near deployment, we will provide more details on the architecture to keep everyone informed about the advancements we are making.

Chang Hard Fork

The upcoming Chang Hard Fork is a major milestone, introducing decentralized governance, enhanced smart contract functionality, and broader governance capabilities directly on the blockchain. Scheduled now for September 1st, this update — also known as the beginning of the Voltaire Era — represents a significant leap forward for Cardano.

With our forward-thinking approach to development, we are already ahead of the curve, fine-tuning our protocol to ensure full compatibility with Chang. We are also optimizing our indexing and transaction capabilities to align with the updated protocol parameters, ensuring that everything works as expected. Bringing our nodes, indexing and transaction building code to conform and be compatible to the new protocol updates

Once the fork is live, as a user, you won’t notice any downtime or potential hiccups as Crashr becomes Conway Era compatible.

What needs to be updated?

  • Pallas.Dotnet (a .NET library that wraps pallas rust library, pallas is a tool by TxPipe that allows programmatic interaction with Cardano networking protocols, (de)serialization of Cardano types and more!
  • Crashr.Sync Update to the latest Pallas.Dotnet version. Ensure the indexing layer is compatible with Conway blocks and data structures.
  • Crashr.Offchain Verify that all components, from the Data API to the Transaction Builder API, are compatible with the Conway protocol parameter updates.
  • Crashr.Web With these backend updates, ensure that the frontend continues to function seamlessly and maintains 100% operational status.

Metamask Integration

Another exciting update — Metamask, one of the most popular crypto wallets with over a million active users, will now support Cardano! Soon, users will be able to connect their Metamask wallet to Crashr, eliminating the barrier of entry for non-Cardano native users. Instead of a new user needing to figure out which wallet to use, setting it up, and figuring out how to load ADA, they can now integrate their Metamask and cross-chain bridge all within Metamask! We want to make it easier than ever for anyone to begin their Cardano journey. This is all thanks to the team over at NuFi. Learn more about how the Metamask integration works here.

Backup and Monitoring System

To maintain operational integrity and minimize downtime, whether from updates, server outages, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control — we’re implementing a comprehensive backup and monitoring solution. No matter the situation, you’ll always be able to trade seamlessly on Crashr. Our priority is to keep you online, trading without interruption.

Improvements and Bug Fixes

As always, we are constantly focused on resolving bugs based on community feedback; our commitment to perfecting the protocol is unwavering — we are, after all, a decentralized trading platform built by and for the community, with ongoing input from traders across the blockchain ecosystem.

Final Remarks

The Crashr team is making remarkable progress, with nearly half of our initial roadmap completed. We’re thrilled to continue pushing forward and will share more about the next steps once key milestones are achieved. As a teaser for what’s coming next month, we’ll be further expanding the capabilities to retrieve data from other smart contracts and protocols, introducing a new layer of indexing, and implementing these features for traders on Crashr. Even beyond the roadmap, we remain committed to delivering value to our community, adapting to market conditions, and staying ahead of the curve. Rest assured, Crashr will be fully prepared for change and continue leading the charge in the decentralized trading landscape.
