Ripples
A haiku
Photo by Christine Caswell on Unsplash
ripples on the lake — on an empty dock the girl’s tears sizzle
—
The lake answers every movement with another widening circle, carrying disturbance gently outward. Along the dock, a sharper feeling breaks through the stillness, brief and almost hidden against the heat of the day. In that quiet contrast, sorrow seems to belong both to the body and to the air surrounding it.

Curious how these small moments become haiku? I’ve written a short guide called *The Three-Minute Haiku System*, which shows a simple way to turn an observation into a draft haiku in just a few minutes.
