The Oak With Roots

Who are you within?

Would an oak stand as tall and proud if it’s roots didn’t branch and maneuver its path through the soil? It’d fall! Without its roots the oak would be simple and small just as much as another tree. It probably wasn’t 10 years or so that it took to frame its roots, it may have been 20 or more.

Without the roots, it dies. If they decided to stay as they are; shallow and not dig deep into the soil in search of water, it’d die soon enough. And as it finds it’s way deep into the soil, it becomes a tree so very deep.

Maybe it wasn’t how far the oak dug, but how hard it did. And, maybe it wasn’t the depth that made it strong but the stories that met the root; those which shaped branches of memories onto it.

Though the depth mattered without the journey the roots would’ve never learned itself! Cut a branch off and it’ll slowly forget itself and lose its mind. That’s how important the oak’s roots are! That’s how deeply your roots matter! So, go back to your roots and learn them till you’re able to bring every piece of you together!
