1982 Kinney Qualifying

The Kinney Meet was the closest thing there was to national championship of cross-country in the 80s. There was no Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) where the teams competed. There was only Kinney (today, the Footlocker championship), where the top individuals managed an invitation to run the national championship where they would run in colors representing the four different regions of the U.S. — northeast, west, midwest and south. The 1982 final was run in Kissimee, Florida.

The entire Bernards varsity seven from the All-Group meet at Holmdel were entered to run as was senior Meg Waldron for the girls. Meg would qualify and advance to the nationals.
