In conflict zones, children don’t get to grow up they’re forced to survive.
The world counts child casualties, but doesn’t track the futures lost in silence. Schools turn to rubble. Playgrounds to graveyards. Laughter disappears under airstrikes. And still, we speak of “hope.”
These aren’t just young bodies in danger. They are minds under siege. A generation watching parents die, homes vanish, and leaders lie.
Some carry water instead of books. Some pick up weapons before they learn to write. Some stop speaking altogether not because they can’t, but because no one is listening.
In refugee camps, children form makeshift classrooms taught by survivors. In cities, teens roam streets with no plan but to get through the day. They aren’t the future. They are the interrupted present.
The world forgets them because they can’t vote, can’t fight, can’t demand justice. But wars that ignore children always come back stronger. Because silence doesn’t make trauma disappear it multiplies it.
A child left behind today is a broken society tomorrow.
